Christmas Project

Every year, there are many senior citizens that spend the Christmas Holidays alone. We here at the BC camp wanted to celebrate the spirit of Christmas by trying to spread a bit of Christmas cheer to less fortunate ones.

We would like to ask that the fans of Blue County search out a senior citizen in need of someone to celebrate the joy of Christmas with them.  It can be someone in your neighborhood, someone in a local nursing home or an angel off the local Walgreen's store tree.  We ask that you please purchase some gifts for that person and make their Christmas a non-blue one.  Please take the gifts to them, have your picture made with them and send it to our fan club president via email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  (please include your telephone number)  Once the picture is received, you will be given a number.  On December 23rd, a drawing will be held by Blue County.  That winning person will receive a personal telephone call from Scott and Aaron to wish you a Merry Christmas and hear about your experience with your Special Christmas friend.  To discuss further, there is a thread on the message board titled "Who wants a Blue Christmas".

Clear the decks for Blue County.

Scott and Aaron have what is unquestionably the Disc of the Day this week with their enchanting performance of “Firecrackers and Ferris Wheels.” No one else even comes close.

BLUE COUNTY/Firecrackers And Ferris Wheels
Writer: Tom Douglas/Troy Verges/Aimee Mayo/Chris Lindsey; Producer: Tom Douglas/Blue County; Publisher: Sony ATV Tree/Tomdouglasmusic/Songs of Univesal/Songs From the Engine Room/Little Blue Typewriter/BMG/Magic Farming, BMI/ASCAP; Curb Asylum

—The rumbling bass line, soulful harmony singing and wistful lyric are all simply wonderful. I think this duo should be much, much bigger than it is, and this deliciious single just might be the one to make that happen.

Blue County Presented The Connie B. Gay Award

During a recent CMA Board of Directors meeting, Blue County was presented with the Connie B. Gay Award which is presented to someone who has rendered outstanding service to the Association.

Here's a snip:

connie_b_gay_award During a surprise presentation, Blue County was presented the Connie B. Gay Award, one of CMA’s most prestigious honors. First given in 1963, the award is named for the CMA’s founding president, the late Connie B. Gay (1959-1960). It is given in recognition of someone not currently serving on the CMA Board who has in the past year rendered outstanding service to the Association.

In 2005, Blue County participated in the “Wal-Mart Road to the CMA Music Festival Tour;” made several appearances during the Festival including the NBC Daytime Party; participated in New York City press conferences for the CMA Awards, including the recent announcement of the 2005 CMA Broadcast Award nominees; and performed during “The Chevy All Access Music Tour” at New York’s Union Square to name a few.

“These guys have said ‘Yes’ to everything we have asked them to do and have done it with great spirit and enthusiasm and we want to thank them by making them this year’s Connie B. Gay Award winners,” Brooks said.

Blue County Jams With Tim McGraw

tm_blu_cnty Blue County played Phoenix the same day as Tim McGraw. What started as a simple stop to say hello and check out his show ended up a little crazier.

Scott and Aaron not only stayed for the show, but they also got the opportunity to hop on stage and give Arizona a 3-man version of McGraw's "I like It, I Love It." The guys were excited to see Tim and honored to take the stage with him.
